locust trees

Question
I have all kind of little locust trees all over my property give me the easiest way to kill them for good i keep cutting them off and new sprouts come back

Answer
Wipe the foliage with a herbicide called Roundup. This will be taken up by the foliage and transported to the roots killing the seedling. Roundup will kill most green plants you could spray the seedlings but you may kill the green plants under them. You can use a  rag wet with the Roundup and wipe the leaves. I would wear plastic gloves to keep the smell of the herbicide off my hands--the herbicide will not harm you if it get on the skin. Of course mowing will over time get rid of the seedlings also. After a time the roots will run out of energy and stop sprouting. Since it it late in the year it may be best to now wait until next spring the treat the seedlings with the herbicide.
